The Shareware Starter Kit provides integrated product purchasing and instant upgrade functionality. Built into the kit are two activation options. The first enables the user of you application to purchase an activation key, while the second allows the user to enter an existing activation key.

If the user does not have an existing activation key they have to option of purchasing an activation key using the integrated e-commerce functionality of the Shareware Starter Kit. The E-commerce portal provided with the Shareware Starter Kit is a customized DotNetNuke portal that is integrated with a shopping cart and credit card authorization logic.

In the background, the product will continue monitoring the licensing web service until the payment on the developer’s E-commerce portal is complete.

The user will automatically be directed to the developers fully customizable portal in their default browser and be given the option to seamlessly purchase and activate the product.

The integrated E-commerce functionality allows billing information to be entered directly to the developers custom portal, not a third party site in order to purchase the product.

The final receipt page of the E-commerce portal confirms a successful purchase of the product, and provides the user with a reference and email containing their new product activation key.

Since the developer E-commerce portal is fully integrated with the Shareware Starter Kit licensing and activation service the product is seamlessly activated in the background as soon as the purchase is confirmed.
